ROME -- Lorenzo Insigne scored two early goals as Napoli edged Fiorentina 3-1 to win the Italian Cup in a final marred by pre-game violence on Saturday. A fan was in serious condition following a shooting on the outskirts of Rome before the match. As a result of the shooting, in which an off-duty police officer was also reportedly injured, the final started 40 minutes late, and there were scenes of violence inside the stadium with a firefighter injured by fireworks thrown from the stands by Napoli supporters. The pre-kickoff tension didnt seem to bother Napoli, however, as Insigne quickly put the southern squad ahead 2-0. Insignes first goal came 11 minutes in with an angled shot that bounced in off the post. He doubled the lead in the 17th by finishing off a counterattack with a shot that deflected in off defender Nenad Tomovic. Peru midfielder Juan Vargas replied for Fiorentina in the 28th with a blast from the edge of the area. The Viola nearly equalized in the 45th but a goal from Alberto Aquilani was annulled for offside. Napoli finished with 10 men when Gokhan Inler picked up his second yellow card for a foul from behind on Josip Ilicic in the 79th. Ilicic had a golden chance to equalize in the 85th but shot wide. Napoli substitute Dries Mertens added another goal in the second minute of added time. "It was a great game," Napoli first-year coach Rafa Benitez said. "It seemed we were in control at the start then they scored but we were able to win with 10 men in the end." It was the fifth Cup for Diego Maradonas former club, with its last coming in 2012. In Serie A, Napoli sits third. One positive note for Fiorentina was the return of Giuseppe Rossi, who came on for the final 18 minutes. It was Rossis first action since January, after his latest knee injury, and boosted his chances of making Italys World Cup squad. In the pre-match violence, several other fans were also reportedly injured, although the circumstances of the shootings were not clear. "I hear that the fan who was shot has been operated on and hopefully is out of danger, so we dedicate this Cup to him," Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis said. Inside the stadium, Napoli captain Marek Hamsik went over to talk with the fans and calm them down before kickoff. There was more chaos at the final whistle when Napoli fans invaded the pitch to celebrate, although they were quickly brought under control to allow the trophy ceremony to go forward. "It certainly wasnt a great scene, what we displayed today alongside football," Italian football federation vice-president Demetrio Albertini said. "For a football lover like me, it was an ugly display." Mariners Adam Warren Jersey .C. -- Benn Ferrieros familiar with scoring important goals, just not in back-to-back games. Tiger Woods is moving his World Challenge from his old home in California to his old course in Florida -- Isleworth Country Club. Woods said Friday that his charity event, which attracts a world-class field even without being part of any tour, will move in December 2014 to Isleworth, the course where he honed his professional game from 1996 until moving away to south Florida two years ago. Isleworth is among several golf communities owned by the Tavistock Group, which will share the tournament proceeds with the Tiger Woods Foundation. "We have a longstanding relationship with Tavistock Group and my friend, Joe Lewis, and I am thrilled to see it grow in support of our foundations," Woods said. The World Challenge had been at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif., since 2001. It was played the first two years in Arizona. The move appears to be the end of the Tavistock Cup, which began as match between tour players from Isleworth and Lake Nona and since has expanded to include other Tavistock properties, such as Albany in the Bahamas. One possibility is for the World Challenge to move to the Bahamas, perhaps as early as 2015. The Tavistock Cup is not part of the spring 2014 schedule on the PGA Tours website -- noteworthy because the tours schedule still includes the CVS Charity Classic, another unofficial event -- and the exhibition is not listed on the Tavistock Cups website. "We have had 10 great years hosting our own Tavistock Cup golf tournament, and we believe this new partnership with the World Challenge will allow us to expand our presence and investment in the game," said Andy Odenbach, vice-president of Sports Venturess at Tavistock Group.dddddddddddd The World Challenge would bring far more credibility, and attention, to Isleworth because it is a four-day event that has been televised on NBC Sports. And while the World Challenge is unofficial, it began offering world ranking points in 2010 by developing a criteria for the field and limited its two sponsor exemptions to the top 50 in the world. Graeme McDowell is the defending champion. This years 18-man field features 14 players from the top 20. The World Challenge is so important to Woods that last year he contributed about $4 million of his own money to help cover operating costs. Proceeds led to building the first Tiger Woods Learning Center on 14 acres near where Woods grew up in Cypress, Calif., and next to the H.G. "Dad" Miller Golf Course where he spent so much time as a kid. The tournament was the first visible showcase of Woods foundation, and his father Earl, who died in 2006, was a big part of it. "Weve been looking for ways to expand our relationship with Tavistock and this is a perfect fit," said Greg McLaughlin, the president and CEO of the Tiger Woods Foundation. "We very proud of the $25 million the World Challenge has raised, and weve been evaluating the best path forward to continue this work." It was not clear how Tavistock would be presented in the title of the tournament, if at all. Northwestern Mutual has signed on as the title sponsor for the World Challenge for Dec. 5-8 event at Sherwood; the company is not mentioned with the 2014 event. Sherwood first became part of the golf landscape as the host of the Shark Shootout, now played in Naples, Fla.
